Every LOVE DOT piece is hand-dyed using Batik and Adire — centuries-old wax-resist techniques rooted in West Africa. Because the dye is often natural and the work is human, color and pattern vary slightly between pieces. Restocks of the same design may carry different depths of color than what's pictured here. Consider it the piece's signature, not a flaw.
A white dress that knows what room it's walking into.
____
Carrie is our founder's middle name — the one she gives at the counter when she doesn't feel like spelling Ńnèká. It's also her great-aunt's name, a woman who was an entrepreneur before anyone made room for her to be one. This is the first LOVE DOT piece where batik isn't the headline. It runs the placket, opens through the skirt, and falls just past the hem — hand-dyed in Ghana, cut and sewn in Accra. The white cotton holds the structure. The batik says the rest.
THE PIECE
Sharp point collar. Fitted through the bodice with clean panel seams, then released into a full skirt that moves when you do.
Wide fluted cuffs — the kind of sleeve you notice when she's talking with her hands. The hem falls asymmetrically over a batik underlayer, so the color shows where the white opens. Gold metal shank buttons, collar to hem.
It works Tuesday at 9 and Friday at 8.
A blazer over it for the room where you're being evaluated.
Nothing over it for the room where you're being seen.
THE DETAILS
100% Cotton, mid-weight, structured.
Every length of batik is hand-dyed by hand, which means no two of these are the same — the variation is the proof of handmade authenticity, not a flaw.
Available in size small - XXL
