3,120 hours.
That’s about how much time we have left in 2025.
For many of us, this year has been a year like no other. There’s absolutely nothing to compare it to.
From the wildfires in California, to the fire that leveled Accra’s Kantamanto market in January, leaving hundreds - if not thousands - of traders without their livelihood. This year started in a way that forced many of us to question our ambitions and goals before the year even got started.
Myself included. I started the year on a beach in Accra.
Singing under the darkness of night in the glimmer of the moon.
Full of hope, clear in focus, and ready to take LOVE DOT to the next level. In design, story, and purpose.
It was a fast start that hit a speed bump made of tariffs, currency fluctuations, production delays, and quite frankly - loads of discouragement.
Couple that with the fact that I’m a corporate-preneur….e.g. an executive who spends their days running someone else’s business and nights and weekends building their own. For the first half of 2025, things felt imposssible.
Here’s the thing about speed bumps.
They slow you down, but they don’t stop you. Unless you let them. This year is still going. And while we have no idea what the next four months have in store, what we do know is that we are determined to show up to meet the moment in the bold pursuit of our ambition.
And by “we” I mean “me”.
Nneka Carrie Ude - strategist, storyteller, educator, founder of LOVE DOT, and champion of all things bold, audacious, and ambitious.
Why? Because ambition doesn’t leave you unless you choose to allow the world to evict it from you.
As we approach the last four months of 2025, I challenge you to revisit that one goal, desire, opportunity you might have walked away from too soon this year.
Pick it up, believe, and keep going. It could be the thing that inspires and connects the world.
